Calculations within a web form
in our app we would like to automatically do ratios based on formulas of data entered by users.
For instance a when a user inputs their monthly income and household size we can use a look up table to match the resources they have compared to the poverty level for their household size and give them a percentage.
This is easy to accomplish in excel, but a pain in Caspio.
Thank you again for this idea. The feature is now available in Basic and higher plans. Look for new Calculated Value form element in Submission Form. More information can be found at https://howto.caspio.com/datapages/datapage-components/calculated-values/

from a trial account user:
"The feature of having 'Calculation Field' in forms, is not only for me, but as a consultant I must require it for my clients also. It wont be a fair deal for asking your development team every time whenever it is required, that too with extra charges. Even the solution you provided for the second point which I mentioned, is not meeting out my exact requirement. If the 'Default' value is set in a field, then the form should have the value in that field by default when it is loaded, and it will be altered by the user if it is required other wise it will have the same value in it.
Kindly consider my requests and try to implement in 'Caspio' because these are very basic, common features to be their in all application development tools, other wise your 'Caspio' wont be full fledged 'App Developer' and it will help only to create applications like schedulers, task managements, contacts etc."

I 150% agree this is an absolute MUST it imperative, I have forms that I have created that require costs be added to certain investigation costs. And I don't see why adding the calculation function fro reports to the forms area. Come on Caspio, you've made this great product I would think that this would be easy.

Add the "Advanced form rules and checks based on calculations of user input" (7 votes) to my comment below. All similar ideas. That's about 70 votes.

This suggestion (11 votes) should be combined with "calculated field to be stored in table" (53 votes) suggestion.....because a) it makes sense; b) I really want his feature; and c) it would at or near the top in votes.
