  1. Add a SUM field as a data type to perform cross-table tabulation

    I chose Caspio over a newer competitor of Caspio because I could have a LITTLE more latitude using Caspio....however, I nearly went with the competitor because they had a SUM field option, that I could set up in a separate table and sum amounts in another table based on criteria determined in my current table.

    This functionality is sorely missing. It was the basis of my first support ticket with Caspio. I was told "if you are looking to have a table value updated based on some action or value changed in a different table, this may require a trigger…

  2. Apply SQL 'AND' clause when creating a view

    This would be helpful for restricting tables before doing the join when creating a view. A possible workaround would be giving the option to link a view with a view. This is very valuable for historical type tables.

    For example:

    I have 2 tables, I need to filter table 1 before joining with table 2.

    Customer table:

    Customer | State

    A | S
    B | V
    C | L

    Entry table

    Customer | Entry | Category

    A | 123 | D
    A | 325 | C
    A | 496 | D
    A | 3874 | M
    B | 3478 |…

  3. Password protected table from deletion that can maximize security

    I would like to see if the table that can be protected from deletion without putting passcode or password of the author or admin for maximum table security. Because if the table deleted all things are gone.

  5. We should be able to develop app with dynamic search bar displayed with results without using another data page

    At the moment, through viewing your ready-made apps and tutorials, we need to use up a DataView from our limited (5) dataviews when you create a search display simply to be able to have the search and results on the same page. This seems very restrictive.
    You should be able to have a setting to display search and results on the same page without this extra data page.

  6. Move up/move down arrows on join page in view setup

    Currently when setting up views, the order of the table joins cannot be altered. When a modification has to be made to the joins in a certain order, all joins below the one to be modified or added must be deleted and re-added.

  8. Better SQL features. DELETE query (esp for duplicates). UPDATE query for mass updates

    Deleting duplicates in a table requires a filter and checkbox deletion by hand. Updates can only be made outside of Caspio and re-imported. These basic execution SQL functions should be enabled in some form other than imports.

    Especially with big data, using imports to update and delete tables is tedious at best and unachievable at worst.

    The filtering logic for views is great. Adding pivot tables in views would allow pivot tables to be exported, referenced or accessed via API.

  11. Move a record from a table to another

    Hello,
    would be nice to have an option to move a record from a table to another.
    In my case for example, when I want to blacklist a record I have on my table, I move it to a Blacklist table to then make sure with a view between the two tables that the blacklisted company is not registered again in the first table.

    Right now we need to export/download the data, delete the record in the first table, then import it on the new table, quite time consuming.

  13. It would be great if a table field could be set with a default value or do a calculation on update.

    If you use importing to get data into a table you can't interact with the data without manual intervention. That defeats the purpose of automatic importing or importing at al really.

  14. Be able to download reports with spaces in column names. For example "Event Date" instead of "Event_Date". Sometimes this is required.

  15. Many-to-Many Relationships - Views as a source for a view

    Many-to-Many relationships are powerful for many reasons; in particular action items that have many users that interact with them.

    Please consider this scenario:

    tblActionLog
    FielduserCreator
    Field    userAssigned
    Field_userCompleter
    ...

    A report to display all three users would be very useful, and an easy approach (easy from our end, IDK what this would require from your end) would be to use three User table views as a source for the view that would be the source for the report.

    viewUserCreator, viewUserAssigned, viewUserCompleter, tblActionLog -> sources for viewActionLogReport

  17. Files - could we see how many are in a folder

    Should be easy to add I would have thought and would really help us in managing our apps. Seems odd that there is no property feature for file folders as there is with datapages, tables etc.

  19. Download table/datapage properties

    Have the ability to download the table preoperties like fields, records, size, last modified etc. or datapage properties. This is available when you click on datapages or tables, but it would be nice to have it downloadable.
